Scenic Valley Motel

Room was very nice. Check in was very easy. Room had coffee pot, microwave and refrigerator. The only thing I would suggest is in the room there was a laminated paper with breakfast suggestions. Two of the three places are permanently closed. Just a quick update on that would be great. Would definitely stay here again.

The rooms are nice and updated. The comforter was a nice surprise as they don't have those stiff, itchy ones like most major brand hotels have. The negatives I had were the shower was small and the water takes a bit of time to actually get warmed up enough before you can stand to even get in the shower. But once it has warmed up, the water is hot. Aside from those minor issues, I was very pleased with my stay. I would definitely stay again as well as recommend the motel to anyone traveling to the area!

I didn't know what to expect after reading the reviews, it's an older motel, but it was a cute room. The air freshener was a little strong, they were a plug in to the wall type, we could have unplugged them for the night, one window shade was missing the bottom part, we were at the end of the motel, so no one was walking by the window. This is the first time we got a key out of a box by the door, but it was easy. If we are this way again we would stay there.

Rooms are simple but have the necessities (a bed and TV). conveniently right off a major road. Rooms do not have soap/shampoo in them so bring your own (or ask for some)!

Motel room was clean and perfectly sized to fit my needs as someplace to sleep and shower during the week for work. The owner is great to work with and very attentive. Room didn’t have any odors and the bedding was comfortable and the bed and pillows are great. Room had direct tv and Roku so even though you’re in small town Iowa, you don’t need to be isolated like it.

Under new ownership and it shows. From check-in to us checking out, we had a great overnight stay. Micro, mini fridge, super cool air and a comfy bed. The rooms have been updated which were comfortable with cute decor, the outside is almost redone. Great stay, great value and we will be back.

Great small town motel! New siding, new grilling area, rooms were clean and sufficient. Check in was simple over the phone for being later in the evening. Such a great thing to have in a small town that offers so much. Will definitely be back again.

Comfortable, clean, and economical. Very friendly staff. Best lodging in Lansing for one simple reason: It's a whole mile away from noisy RR tracks that have frequent trains all night. Everywhere else to stay in town is right by the noisy tracks.
